possible Candida/yeast problem, who to go to?

I have suspected that I have a systemic candida/yeast problem but I haven’t been able to find find a doctor that’s willing to look into that? I’ve noticed when I take probiotics AND when I took fluconazole, the same thing happened: my neck got really stiff with pain and pain also traveled to my back. I don’t want to self medicate not knowing what I’m doing though, however most doctors aren’t knowledgeable either. So, how do I find a doctor willing to entertain the idea? Is there a certain type that would know about this? I have been very disappointed with the professionals I’ve seen.

Candida Infection. Sinuses, Rash Behind knee and on genitals.?

I went to the doctor monday with headaches, depression, frontal sinus swelling and a rash on the back of my leg (behind my knee) and another little one on my inner thigh. Also the rashes appear on my scrotum, base of my penis, and one near the head of my penis. I have a chronic sinus infection (what the cat scan on my sinuses showed on monday). I am now taking Avelox a powerful antibiotic used for bacterial infections. I am extremely depressed, very anxious, and ever since i stopped smoking weed, which comes simultaneously with my rash developing, i have developed terrible general anxiety. I have no motivation anymore and i believe the source of my problem is a combination of quitting weed (after 4 years of smoking) and my systemic candida infection, i have had diarrhea intermittently and i constantly have stomach twitches and growls, its been going on now for about a month maybe a montha and a half but only recently have my sinuses actually been tender, with head fullness and headaches, and a whole lot of fullness in my sinuses weighing my head down. what should i do about my fungal infection?

First, congrats on stopping weed. I’m sure all that dope has contributed to your sinus infection.

Second, just get some anti-fungal cream from the store and start putting it on all the places you mentioned.

Third, it sounds like you have a lot of symptoms of an anxiety disorder and I bet you have this fungal infection from sweating too much ’cause your always freaking out about everything. I think you should see a psychiatrist who can prescribe you some meds for anxiety and all the rest of the other stuff will get better too!

What type of physician considers systemic issues?

What type of doctor treats systemic symptoms?

My issues include (but are not limited to) severe scalp eczema, kidney and bladder pressure, intestinal distress. I believe it may be candida or perhaps a food intolerance. I would like to see a doctor that would explore whether or not these issues are all connected.

I would also say an internist or an allergist, but there are things you can do before you see them to relieve some of your discomfort. Plantain(the herb not the banana like thing) and Slipprey Elm in a tea together (go to your local natural health store and they should have both) in an equal ratio of 2 parts (or cups) of water to 2 ounces of herb will help relieve your eczema nicely. Boil, then steep for 1/2 hour and use both externally(as a shampoo/hair treatment over a bowl…soak for 10 minutes) and internally (drink as you would any other tea). I have also found Garlic and Astragalus root extremely effective for urinary tract infections…take as labeled on the bottle.
However, definitely do go see a doctor for testing as you may also be diabetic…it doesn’t happen often, but I have seen these symptoms in diabetic people all together.

Could this symptom be an indication of Candida die off? I have been taking something to control a systemic Candida problem. Instead of a sign of getting worse, could this be a sign of getting better? Please don’t answer if you don’t know. If you do know, please tell how you know. Thanks!

No. You are not going to get inflammation and irritation from an infection going away.

I have had the problem you describe over the years, by the way, and I do not know how to make it go away, I just know over time it does. I’m not sure if something in the deoderant activates something on the skin, or if it is just the rubbing of the skin in that area that causes it.

As for the Candida issue, I worked with yeast species for a couple of years and had to read the background of yeast infections, clinical signs etc, and never saw anything to indicate that successful treatment would result in the condition you describe.

The person has a small lung collapse and has been suffering from various forms of thrush for a long time. It is proving difficult to find the cause of both problems but there seems to be some websites making a link. This person does not have HIV/Aids but would be described as being in general poor health (overweight, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, 65+ years, prone to colds / flu etc).

I’d be surprised if you hear from anyone with a history of sytemic candidiasis unless it is an AIDS patient. It is a pretty uncommon problem. It is generally associated with significant immune deficiency and is most commonly seen as a complication of AIDS.

The fungus (yeast) Candida albicans is an opportunistic infection that becomes systemic when it is found in the blood. This is very rare with normal immunity.

The symptoms may include weakness, fever, and low blood pressure (possibly with confusion), but will be mostly due to the underlying cause of the infection, such as the AIDS which was present to allow it to occur.

Candida can reach the lungs through the bloodstream and cause a pneumonia. Or, it can originate in the mouth or esophagus, descend into the lungs (aspirated), and then get into the blood stream.

The symptoms would be similar to those of any other pneumonia: cough (possibly bloody), chest pain, rapid breathing (tachypnea) and shortness of breath (dyspnea).

The bacterial microbiota (normal body microbes) of the mucous membranes in the

How do you deal with systemic Candida? Has anyone actually been successful at curing it with the diet and pills, what the best way to get rid of systemic candida?

I’m not a doctor but I believe it can only be cured with prescription medication, some kind of antibiotic cream.
