Do I have Candida? Is it real? What now?

I did a spit test for Candida, and my spit sunk to the bottom in a cloudy fog (tested positive). I have been on a lot of antibiotics in the past two years because of my frequent sinus infections. I know colon cleanse systems advertise curing Candida. Does anyone know if its a real infection or if a colon cleanse is a real solution? Should I go to a doctor?
some symptoms I have: acne, irritability, constipation, low sex drive, only one bowel a week, fatigue, bloated stomach, sore throat, and swollen sinuses

I believe Candida is real and can have significant effects, and though I feel we know our bodies and at times our instincts are correct, I would suggest that you should see a professional so as not to rely solely on a self-diagnosis, especially through means of a spit test (many factors can come into play with this). This would also allow you to find the best means to treat it. The fact that you have taken many antibiotics can certainly play a role, however do you have other symptoms that lead you to believe you may have candida?

Keep in mind that unfortunately, many western doctors do not believe in Candida (however if you do decide to see one, an ear, nose and throat specialist might be a good choice to diagnose thrush for example), so you might want to consider seeing an alternative health professional, and even getting a second opinion. A doctor can prescribe specific medication however, while an alternative health professional may focus on more natural means (nutrition and natural supplements, for example cutting sugar, yeast, adding grapeseed/grapefruit seed extract, cononut oil, etc. and a possible antioxidant).

Has anyone cured Candida?

I am a 21 year old female & ive had Candida syptoms for 4 years now. I have a thick furry coating on my tongue & really bad breath which I think comes out of my nose also. People act weird when i’m talking to them & my mum said my breath smells so I know this for sure.
I’m always constipated & feel bloated and always tired. My memory goes abit foggy & I find it hard to concertate. My doctor is useless & my dentist said my teeth & gums are ok. I was referred to the hospital but they have put it down to constipation & give me fibre gel to take.
I’ve tried taking acidophilus & Pau d’Arco & garlic supplements as I read this helps but i’ve had no luck. I drink plenty of water & brush & floss my teeth twice a day & use hydrogen peroxide as a mouthwash.
Has anyone had this problem before & if so can you please tell me what you done to get rid of this as it’s ruining my life. I dont like to socialise when I have this or get close to my boyfriend. It’s really embarrasing.

I have it also. I heard that if you refined sugar, drink beer, and eat bread that it makes it worse. Try eating meat, veggies, and keep drinking the water. Limit the bread intake. There’s a few sites about it also, you might want to type it into google.

Oh yeah, I also heard that antibiotics can give it to you…

Candida Treatment for Autism?

I have a 2 year old son with Autism. I wanted to know how you go about curing candida. He is currently on the GF/CF diet. Any info would be much appreciated. Priobotics, supplements, etc…
I am very offended by larry L’s comments. If you have comments like that, don’t bother responding to my question.

I have successfully treated my son’s yeast problem with Nystatin because his yeast infection was not high. If there is a systemic or high yeast infection, Difulcan followed by Nystatin is recommended – the doctor will make that decision.
Other antifungals are used if the yeast is a resistant strain.
Enzymedica makes a product called Candidase that will dissolve the cell wall of the yeast and allow the body to kill it. It says to take Virastop ( to kill viruses) with the Candidase. I dissolve this in some water and then mix it into a drink. My son has no problem taking this. My husband and I both take Virastop at the first sign of a cold or sore throat and watch as the symptoms disappear within 2 days. The other natural supplements like olive leaf extract taste horrible and my son will not touch it. ThreeLac is a probiotic formulated to crowd out yeast and some parents have reported die-off reactions quite fast. Give your son charcoal ( found near Tums- in the pharmacy) if you get bad die- off reaction to the yeast. The charcoal will absorb the toxins given off by the yeast after they die. Charcoal is great for gas and upset stomach. Don’t take the charcoal an hour before or after medication as it will absorb the medicine.
You might also want to go on a yeast-free diet and reduce the total amount of sugars ( includes juice) and bread your son eats. One thing some people don’t know is that candida likes mercury and will keep coming back until the mercury levels are low. A urinary prophyrin test will show evidence of heavy metal poisoning. Blood tests are good only if the metals are ingested recently because after some time, heavy metals go to other organs and effectively escape detection.
I know this because we did not find the mercury in my son’s blood but it showed up in the urinary prophyrin test and urine testing after chelation.
For the ignorant people reading this question, she is referring to an intestinal yeast infection which is caused usually by the use of antibiotics killing off the normal flora and allowing the yeast to take over. Multiple rounds of antibiotics caused my son’s yeast infection. Unfortunately, many doctors don’t tell their patients to take probiotics after treatment with antibiotics thus creating an intestinal yeast infection.
