Sinc I have been on the gluten and wheat free diet (still have some brown rice cakes) and a lot of meat and veggies..sometimes I get hives. They come fast but leave very fast too. Is this a die off to not having yeast products and gluten/wheat???

have you been eating special wheat/gluten free replacements? this could cause an allergic reaction.

you could also be eating something regularly without even realizing it. hives are a part of celiac disease/gluten intolerance

Candida yeast are common in all humans, you will find them in the digestive tract and sometimes in the mouth, vagina, and rectum/perianal region. They are not associated with depression, anxiety, fatigue, pain, or any of the other diverse symptoms that some alternative medicine practitioners try to link them to.

If excessive sugar is the root of your problem—which it may or may not be—the reason is probably far more simple than scary yeast feeding off the sugar in your body. Our bodies are not designed to process huge amounts of pure sugar at a time, and the blood sugar spike followed by crash can wreak havoc on your mood. Blood sugar is a much more likely cause than any microorganisms.

Have you been treated for depression/anxiety with medication or talk therapy? You mention that you have spoken to your primary care provider and a psychiatrist, and they both agreed on a diagnosis. Did you pursue further treatment? I would at least give their diagnosis and recommended treatment a try before trusting someone in a health food shop. It is very likely that your diet plays some role in your depression but higher than normal sugar intake should not cause an 8 year depression.

Consider having your thyroid retested, and maybe your vitamin D, but also consider counseling/therapy and medication. I know that many people are weary about starting psychotropic medication, and I completely understand why, but it has saved millions of lives. Make sure you are describing all of your symptoms; if the pressure in your eyes/head is related there may be an underlying neurological cause.

I am not a medical or mental health professional, but your symptoms seem consistent with a psychological/psychiatric diagnosis like depression with anxiety.

Good luck and trust your doctors, not blindly, but understand that their practice is based on a solid basis of psychology, neurophysiology, and pharmacology.

I also want to be clear that there is no strong medical or scientific basis for attributing these diverse symptoms to Candida. This is not to say that Candida yeast cannot become out of control, causing yeast infections (vaginal) or thrush (oral Candida infection). These are easy to treat with antifungal medications and you would probably know if you had either of these conditions.
