I’m a 20 year old male suffering from candida. The medication I’ve been prescribed doesn’t seem to make any good (Fluconazole). I do still have white coated tongue .. it’s even worse because i started to develop spots in my mouth that are slightly raised. I’m tired all the time, i can’t concentrate on anything.. I’m so down and messed up because there’s nothing i can do about it… it’s horrible
Wondering if anyone else out there has the same problem as me?
i don’t have that problem. but i do know that getting rid of any fungus infection takes a looong time because their metabolism is a lot more similar to ours than bacteria so anything that kills them can also kill us at a high enough concentration. either you were treated by high concentrations of antibacterial medicine that killed off the normal bacteria in your mouth so the fungus took over, or your immune system is loused up and unable to fight off the fungus, or both. and maybe you are diabetic and its living off your high blood sugar. you will have to keep taking the fluconazole until it gets rid of the fungus. i wonder if your doctor could increase the dose any so it works faster. or add something else to help kill it off. it will take a while but you should be able to kill it off and be okay again. i wish i was there. i don’t know what i could do, but i’d try something to at least get your mind off it for a while…. by the way, i hate the other answers. they sound like rubber stamp answers used for everything on here. limiting sugars and carbs might help a little just because it won’t be in your mouth feeding the fungus. unless you kept your mouth full of vinegar all the time (destroying your teeth too) i don’t think vinegar would have any effect, though it wouldn’t hurt either i suppose. candida isn’t a food allergy, its a fungus infection! [*grumbles about silly answers some people give*]
Have you or anyone you know tried Candex? Did it work for you? I have systemic candida (not vaginal yeast infection) and am thinking about trying it. Any personal experience shared would be appreciated.
I have tried it, and without the strict diet that the other two answers recommend it won’t work. While on the diet you might also take garlic supplements, as that is supposed to boost your immune system and a weakened immune system is one reason for systemic candida. Also, you can buy acidophilus pills, but be sure to buy the refrigerated kind at health food stores and get them home to your refrigerator quickly. Acidophilus dies when it isn’t cold, so the unrefrigerated kind aren’t going to help at all.
Symptoms like:
Craves for sugar/ sugary drinks, abnormal tiredness (almost every day), frequent cough, poor memory, poor concentration, brain fog, gets once in three months a kind of wound on the corner of my lower lips etc) Could someone help me to identify my disease ? also please let me – Should I need to consult a END specialist or skin specialist or ? Plz help ….It is serious problem now….. I am not able to work/study bz of poor memory, poor concentration? Who put their thoughts and knowledge towards this question is helping a young chap to come out of his life killing disease and helping him again to walk toward his dreams? Plz, it is a request from Young guy at the age of 25….. lot more to go in life…..
Hey, there is actually no definite test for Candida and there are a lot of symptoms associated with Candida. So what you can do is try going on an anti-Candida diet and taking anti-bacterials/fungals to see if your symptoms improve. The diet is incredibly important in getting rid of Candida and it is incredibly hard to stay on it because you need to exclude so many food groups…but it’s the only way to completely starve the Candida. You can’t eat dairy, any grain/wheat products, or any form of sugar including natural-fruits. So what your diet would basically consist of (for about 6 months to maybe even longer depending on how long you’ve had the symptoms) : Almost all vegetables (except for carrots, beets, peas, and a couple others), different meat products: chicken, beef, fish, pork, etc., and in some anti-Candida diet book it allows you to eat certain grains such as buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth….but it really is best to avoid carbohydrates(except for what you”l be getting from vegetables) for the first 6months or so. While on this diet you should also be taking specific vitamins/minerals to keep you healthy because it is such a restricting diet.
The natural anti-fungals are usually extra virgin coconut oil which should be included in your diet(but personally I cannot tolerate it,I can’t hold it down so I’m not taking it….but really you should because it is extremely helpful in getting rid of Candida…and I would be taking it it if I could), along with the coconut oil you should take an ati-bacterial of your choice( garlic-organic or tablet form, oregano oil, clove oil….whatever you prefer I personally decided on oregano oil and garlic tablets together since I don’t take coconut oil). Or there is also a formula sold in Whole Foods called "Candigone" which you can take instead (or the "Paragone" which has all the same ingredients of the Candigone and a few extra…it’s around $30 I believe…bu I haven’t yet tried this myself so I don’t know how well it works). From experience, what I know works is the diet(it is really key and you can not treat a Candida overgrowth without changing your diet and also the coconut oil in addition to the diet change~because for the short time that I managed to take it it really helped).
Here is a very helpful website to getting rid of a Candida overgrowth the natural way:

And here is another link- and this one is from acne website(which can also be a symptom of Candida-but is not a definitive symptom) but it doesn’t matter because the guy in this link was able to cure himself and he includes a very helpful guideline and methods(by the way he also used the first website I provided as a guide):

I know that a lot of doctors can be pretty skeptical when it come to Candida (I found a regular doctor who also likes using natural/holistic treatments who has been very helpful to me) so maybe you ucan find a doctor who is understanding or try a holistic doctor to help you out.
There is a spit test but that too isn’t a sure way to find out if you have it or not(what you do is first thing in the morning when you wake up(before brushing your teeth) fill a glass with some water and spit in the glass and check what you spit looks like in the water- Google this and online it will tell you how your spit will look if you have a Candida overgrowth….but once again even if your results are fine with this you can still have Candida without knowing it)
Good luck and feel free to email me from my profile if you need some more help on the topic.

What you reckon?
Its a good guide especially if you are suffering from Chronic Fatigue.
It spends a lot of time looking at some of the reasons why you wouldn’t be able to get rid of candida without getting rid of immune compromising conditions that caused it in the first place.

When you get a yeast infection, a doctor confirms the problem by examining some of the discharge under a microscope. Then he prescribes a medicine that kills the excess yeast in the vagina.
It sounds simple, but women who get yeast infections know it isn’t. Yeast, which causes itching and burning and carries a yeasty smell and causes a white, cheesy discharge, has a way of coming back. Some people are prone to yeast infections.
Marjorie Crandall, Ph.D., a candida specialist and founder of Yeast Consulting Services in Torrance, California, understands why women will try almost anything to relieve the discomfort. For 20 years, she fought chronic yeast infections that made her life miserable. Today she is infection-free, and she is also one of the top authorities on ways to control the problem.
Here’s what she and other experts recommend for those troubled by yeast infections.
